802 Residents Benefit from Lingkod-CEZA Anniversary Mission
In celebration of its 30th anniversary, the Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA) extended a helping hand to the people of Santa Ana, Cagayan, through a comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Optical Mission, along with free haircut services. Held on February 24, 2025, at the Santa Ana Municipal Gymnasium, this initiative was part of CEZA’s ongoing commitment to providing essential social services, addressing basic human needs, and enhancing community well-being.
The outreach mission provided a range of free services to residents, including 192 medical check-ups, 201 dental extractions, 75 fluoride varnish applications, 192 eye check-ups, and 46 free haircuts.
Additionally, free vitamins, medicines, and eyeglasses were provided to patients in need. CEZA Administrator and CEO, Secretary Katrina Ponce Enrile, also personally distributed rice assistance to 362 senior citizens of Santa Ana, Cagayan.
This initiative is part of the Lingkod-CEZA Program, which has been serving local communities since the 1990s. “Through the Lingkod-CEZA Program, we regularly implement various activities aimed at uplifting the lives of local residents, particularly those with limited access to essential services. As we commemorate our 30th anniversary, we made sure that Lingkod-CEZA activities remain at the heart of our celebration, dedicated to serving our people, especially marginalized sectors. Our goal is to provide much-needed healthcare services to the community,” said Sec. Enrile.
The event saw a large turnout of both beneficiaries and volunteers. A total of 802 residents received free services, while medical professionals, dentists, and optometrists volunteered their time to provide screenings and treatments. Skilled barbers from MBLT-10 of the Philippine Navy-Marines also participated, offering free haircuts to help individuals—especially school children—look and feel their best.
Sec. Enrile expressed pride in the success of the event and reaffirmed CEZA’s unwavering commitment to local communities. She emphasized that the CEZA Medical, Dental, and Optical Mission exemplifies the agency’s dedication to improving the quality of life in the Cagayan Special Economic Zone and Freeport (CSEZFP) and beyond. “Addressing essential healthcare needs and providing vital services to those with limited access is one of the many ways CEZA continues to fulfill its mission as a catalyst for regional development and progress,” she said.
With the success of this initiative, CEZA remains steadfast in its mission to serve the community and looks forward to launching more programs that promote the well-being of the people it serves.
