CEZA Kicks Off 30th Anniversary Festivities
Select students from St. Anthony’s College and Sta. Ana Fishery National High School took part in the Opening Program through special presentations
CEZA officially launched its 30th-anniversary celebration on February 24, 2025, in Sta. Ana, Cagayan, bringing together regional agencies, local leaders, schools, and partners. Secretary Katrina Ponce Enrile led the festivities, emphasizing the significance of this milestone.
“Celebrating this milestone, I wanted to make sure that I’d be there every step of the way, from planning to delivery. And throughout our preparations, we kept in mind all our stakeholders and partners who have stood with CEZA over the past three decades. We wanted them to celebrate with us in different ways through the activities we prepared,” she shared.
The day began with a motorcade through key locations in Sta. Ana, followed by a thanksgiving Mass led by Rev. Fr. Domingo Juan Resurreccion, OFM, who highlighted CEZA’s role in fostering both economic and environmental sustainability.
The Mass was immediately followed by the anniversary opening program. Atty. Marichelle De Guzman, Deputy Administrator for Operations, delivered the welcome remarks, warmly greeting all those who joined CEZA’s 30th-anniversary celebration. She acknowledged CEZA’s accomplishments over the past three decades and reinforced its commitment to serving the public and stakeholders even better in the years ahead.
During the opening program, Sec. Enrile emphasized CEZA’s mission to attract investments, create jobs, and uplift communities, calling for public support in its future endeavors. Local leaders, including Sta. Ana Mayor Nelson Robinion and Aparri Board Director Bryan Dale Chan, echoed their commitment to CEZA’sgrowth.

The event gathered key agencies, including DTI, NEDA, PNP, DOLE, DSWD, BFAR, BOC, PCG, DA, DHSUD, DOH, EMB, PDEA, and DENR, alongside representatives from local government units, the military, the academe, the private sector, and community groups.
A media interview with RBC Cable TV followed, where Sec. Enrile reiterated her vision of making CEZA a premier investment hub and employment generator.
In the afternoon, Sec. Enrile visited the Lingkod CEZA initiatives, including a job fair, skills training, and a medical-dental-optical mission. These efforts benefited over 800 individuals, while the job fair drew 457 applicants, with 55 hired on the spot. Additionally, 60 learners completed skills training under CEZA’s registered locators.
CEZA’s 30th-anniversary kickoff underscored its relentless pursuit of progress, reaffirming its role in making Cagayan Freeport a hub for investment, employment, and sustainable development.
