In an optimistic step to help advance the government’s “Better Business Movement”, the Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA), led by the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA), is commemorating the first “Ease of Doing Business (EODB) Month” this May through series of activities that aim to transform red tape into red carpet of opportunities in government services.
Among CEZA’s activities include the simultaneous conduct of a rigid and thorough inspection of its Offices in Makati City, Santa Ana and Tuguegarao City by the CEZA Committee on Anti-Red Tape (CART) on May 16, 2025 to evaluate the quality, efficiency, accessibility and responsiveness of its frontline services. The inspection was led by Deputy Administrator for Support Services and CEZA CART Vice Chairperson, Dr. Perla Tumaliuan, who also personally conducted the onsite inspection at the CEZA Makati Office. This was coincided by other delegated CART inspectors, Engr. Julian Jovy Gonzales, Engineer V, for CEZA Sta. Ana Office and Engr. Carlo Sales, Engineer IV, for CEZA Tuguegarao Office.
The inspection checklist included compliance to Citizen’s Charter and prescribed processing time, professionalism and responsiveness of frontliners, functionality of the Public Assistance and Complaints Desk (PACD), availability and use of feedback mechanisms, queue management and service area organization, accessibility and client friendliness of its facilities, availability of online or digital channels, visibility of EODB advocacy materials, and client experience and perception.
CEZA’s efforts also aligns with Proclamation No. 818 signed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on March 4, 2025, which declared May of every year as “Ease of Doing Business Month”, marking a significant milestone in the country’s reform agenda for streamlined, transparent, and efficient governance.
With the theme, “Red Tape to Red Carpet: Better Business Movement in a Bagong Pilipinas,” CEZA commits itself in rendering citizen-centric and business-friendly public service, as it continues to improve itself and its services, gearing towards a more globally competitive and innovative government corporation.
